The 12th International Fluid Power Conference, scheduled for next week in Dresden, Germany, has announced that the event will be moving to October of this year.
“The safety and health of participants, partners, exhibitors, employees and guests is a top priority for the IFK organizers,” said Dipl.-Ing. Jens Popken of the Technische Universität Dresden, in a statement. “Due to the increasing number of corona infections in Germany, experts from the Robert Koch Institute and the Federal Ministry of Health estimate that the risk of further spread of the corona virus will increase. Many speakers, exhibitors and guests are already affected by travel restrictions and cannot attend the conference. This situation, which is the first time in the history of the IFK, demands responsible action on our part.”
In coordination with our co-organizers and partners, the developments around the coronavirus have prompted the organizers to postpone the 12th IFK to October 12 – October 14, 2020.
There is a silver lining to this change, as the original dates of the 12th IFK coincided with the major IFPE show in Las Vegas next week, creating a conflict for many fluid power professionals.
