ASCO has announced that its Numatics G3 Series and Numatics 580 Series electronic platforms have been expanded to control up to 128 solenoid valves on a single valve manifold assembly.
The expanded G3 and 580 Series platforms feature flexible and cost-effective process control architecture that permits the design engineer or end-use specifier to optimize the size of the control cabinet for the number of required valves.
“The expanded functionality enables designers to minimize expensive cabinet space and have fewer nodes dedicated to pneumatic manifolds,” said Andy Duffy, Vice President Sales – Americas. “Now, designers can place more valves in a single cabinet or use a smaller enclosure to house the same number of valves. In addition, installers will only have to set up and configure one node, saving time and labor cost,” Duffy said.
The expanded valve platforms can support 128 Numatics 501 Series solenoid valves and 80 Numatics 502 and 503 Series valves. They are the only products available that can support 80 18 mm and larger valve sizes on a single manifold.
To increase the valve platforms’ capacity, ASCO added mid-station blocks with valve drivers and auxiliary power connectors. This flexible approach allows customers to pay only for the capacity and functionality required in their design. A wide variety of Numatics G3 and 580 Series electronic protocols are supported, including Ethernet/IPTM DLR, Profibus® DP, and Valve Sub-bus for distribution.
ASCO highly recommends that customers use its online DPM configurator when designing pneumatic valve manifold installations to eliminate errors and save time.
“Our new G3 and 580 Series platforms are ideal for use in life science (pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical), food and beverage, fine chemicals, and water/wastewater applications,” Duffy said.
