A note from the editor
Our August 2026 issue of Fluid Power World explores how fluid power technology continues to evolve alongside the changing demands of modern machinery. Our feature coverage examines the changing role of hydraulics as mobile machinery becomes increasingly electrified, tracing the evolution from basic electrical controls to today’s more sophisticated, efficient and digitally controlled hydraulic systems. We also take a close look at compressed air efficiency, exploring how compressor control strategies can create hidden energy waste when they don’t match a plant’s demand profile. Rounding out the feature section is an in-depth Q&A about variable-displacement axial piston pumps and how they can help optimize industrial hydraulic systems.
In our regular departments, we provide practical insight into components, design and system efficiency. Here, we explore filter-regulator-lubricators and their role in compressed air preparation and system health, field-attachable hydraulic hose fittings and how to improve compressed air system efficiency.
