The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) announced the winners of their 2025 Spotlight on New Technology Award, which is given exclusively to OTC exhibitors who are reshaping the offshore energy sector through their innovation and development of technologies. This year, 10 technologies were selected for their demonstrated advancements in the industry.
Bosch Rexroth was recognized for the third year in a row, this time for its Hägglunds Fusion The Power of One. Hägglunds new Fusion drive systems features an entire hydraulic direct drive system that can now be mounted on the torque arm. For the first time, customers in mining, materials handling and other industries have a plug and play answer to drive system needs. A Hägglunds Fusion drive system puts everything on the torque arm, from the hydraulic motor and pumps to the cabinet that houses them. That makes high torque and total reliability available from a single unit — in a footprint that was previously unthinkable.

Last year the company’s Hägglunds Quantum Power was recognized for its high power with greater economy and sustainability. Rexroth was recognized in 2023 for its Hägglunds Atom motor, a compact gearless drive that can convert electric energy or diesel power into rotary motion. The company also notched the award in 2020 for its subsea valve actuator.
This Award technologies were selected based on the following criteria: product uniqueness, degree of ingenuity, demonstrated success, commercial viability, and the ability to make a significant impact across the offshore industry.
“OTC is proud to recognize these companies for their extraordinary technological contributions and advancements in the offshore energy sector,” said Alex Martinez, chairperson, OTC Board of Directors. “The technologies spotlighted this year represent the brilliance, ingenuity, and collaboration of our workforce. Together, they are leading the industry into the future and revolutionizing the field for generations to come.”
