Canfield Industries adds injection molding equipment and systems

Canfield Industries, Inc. has expanded its injection molding capabilities by adding new equipment across its manufacturing facilities to support the Canfield Connector and Spartan Scientific product lines. The expansion includes 90-ton and 55-ton Cincinnati Milacron horizontal molding machines, which add mid-range molding capacity for a range of components. These machines complement existing 190-ton and 55-ton presses at the Spartan Scientific facility, increasing flexibility across the company’s molding operations.

At the Canfield Connector facility, the company added two 35-ton molding machines and a low-pressure molding system to increase capacity. The low-pressure molding process is used to encapsulate select electronic devices, providing added protection for sensitive components and supporting consistent manufacturing results.

“These investments allow us to better support our customers by improving lead times, stabilizing costs, and giving our engineering teams more flexibility to develop new products with expanded capabilities,” said Todd Harmon, vice president of Canfield Industries. “By continuing to invest in our molding operations, we’re ensuring that Canfield Connector and Spartan Scientific can deliver reliable, high-quality solutions as customer needs evolve.”

In addition to the new molding presses, Canfield Industries upgraded supporting infrastructure across its facilities, including chillers, dryers and cooling towers, to improve process control and production reliability. The updates support closer coordination between design, molding and assembly within the company’s manufacturing operations. For customers, this may help reduce lead times, maintain consistent quality and support faster development cycles.
