ControlAir releases Type 715BP and 7250BP regulators

ControlAir LLC has introduced the Type 715BP and Type 7250BP signal-operated back pressure regulators for industrial pneumatic applications. The regulators are designed to provide pressure control and flow capacity for a range of operating conditions.

Both models have a 1:1 signal-to-output ratio and function as normally closed valves. They open when upstream pressure rises above the control signal or setpoint. This allows them to relieve pressure and control flow in systems where downstream equipment needs protection from over-pressurization.

The Type 715BP is intended for applications that require relatively high accuracy with moderate flow capacity. It supports flow rates up to 90 SCFM and has sensitivity as low as 1/4 in. water column. The regulator uses an isolated control chamber to help reduce vibration and hunting, and its design allows on-line maintenance without removing the unit from the air line.

The Type 7250BP is intended for higher-flow and higher-relief applications, with flow rates up to 375 SCFM. It is designed to respond to pressure changes under varying flow conditions. The unit can vent excess pressure to atmosphere or be set up to activate emergency shut-off systems in applications where that is required.

Both regulators can be used in industrial automation, process control, pneumatic system protection, and precision flow control applications. By adjusting the signal pressure, often through an I/P transducer, users can regulate downstream flow or relieve excess upstream pressure.

The Type 715BP and Type 7250BP operate at system pressures up to 250 psig and signal pressures up to 150 psig. They are available in multiple port sizes and with options including ATEX certification and extended temperature ranges. Both models use aluminum bodies and internal components intended for industrial service.

A note from the editor In our October issue of Fluid Power World, my commentary takes a look at the growing role of automation and sensors in mobile machinery, where OEMs are increasingly focused on automating specific functions and improving machine performance rather than chasing fully autonomous equipment. Josh Cosford gets cheeky comparing the auto…
