DGD Fluid Power announces that it has been awarded its fourth United States patent related to the innovative CFT Cartridge Flow Meter product line. The newly issued U.S. Patent No. 12,650,323 recognizes breakthrough advancements that further redefine how hydraulic flow measurement is achieved in demanding mobile and industrial applications.
The latest patent covers enhanced functionality of the CFT Cartridge Flow Meter, including its versatile multiple output options, allowing the device to seamlessly interface with a wide variety of electronic control systems, displays, data acquisition equipment, and machine controllers. This flexibility enables equipment manufacturers and end users to select the output configuration best suited to their application requirements.

More significantly, the patent reinforces the groundbreaking technology that has become the hallmark of the CFT Cartridge Flow Meter: the ability to directly integrate a true turbine flow meter into the hydraulic system itself.
Unlike traditional flow meters that are often mounted externally and exposed to impact, contamination, vibration, and harsh environmental conditions, the CFT Cartridge Flow Meter is installed directly into the hydraulic manifold or machine circuit as a cartridge component. This unique design provides accurate turbine-based flow measurement while protecting the sensing electronics within the cartridge body.
“DGD Fluid Power was founded on the belief that hydraulic flow measurement could be done better,” said Dale Dietel, President of DGD Fluid Power. “Receiving our fourth U.S. patent validates years of innovation and engineering focused on solving real-world challenges faced by equipment manufacturers and hydraulic system designers. Integrating a true turbine flow meter directly into the hydraulic system opens opportunities that simply weren’t possible with conventional external flow meters.”
The CFT Cartridge Flow Meter has been designed for rugged applications found in industries such as construction, agriculture, forestry, marine, mining, material handling, and other severe-duty environments where reliability and protection of sensitive electronics are critical.
By combining the proven accuracy of turbine flow measurement with the convenience and durability of cartridge valve technology, DGD Fluid Power continues to lead the evolution of hydraulic sensing solutions.
“This patent represents more than another intellectual property milestone,” Dietel added. “It demonstrates our ongoing commitment to delivering practical innovations that help machine builders improve reliability, simplify installation, reduce potential damage, and gain valuable hydraulic performance data directly from within the system.”
With four U.S. patents now supporting the CFT Cartridge Flow Meter platform, DGD Fluid Power remains dedicated to advancing hydraulic technology through innovative solutions that provide measurable value to customers worldwide.
