DGD Fluid Power announces that Dale Dietel, CEO, has been granted U.S. Patent #12,535,344 for its Programmable Cartridge Flow Meter. This marks Dietel’s third patent for this technology, as he works to redefine how the industry monitors hydraulic health. Dietel received his first patent for the CFT in 2023.

CFT20 series flow meters from DGD Fluid Power are now available with a microprocessor-based platform.

CFT20 series flow meters from DGD Fluid Power are now available with a microprocessor-based platform.

For decades, harvesting real-time flow data from within an integrated circuit was a “missing link” in fluid power. DGD’s CFT technology changes the game by offering:

  • Drop-in simplicity: The world’s first turbine flow meter designed as a standard cartridge valve
  • “Know the Flow:” Real-time data acquisition for predictive maintenance, remote troubleshooting, and machine intelligence
  • Precision performance: Turbine-level accuracy in a compact, manifold-ready form factor.
  • Smart Integration: Fully programmable and telemetry-ready for Industry 4.0 applications.

Dietel said, “We are making it easier than ever to ‘know the flow’ at any point in a hydraulic system. Whether you are designing for mobile equipment or industrial manifolds, our now triple-patented CFT technology ensures you never have to guess about your system’s performance again.”

A note from the editor In our October issue of Fluid Power World, my commentary takes a look at the growing role of automation and sensors in mobile machinery, where OEMs are increasingly focused on automating specific functions and improving machine performance rather than chasing fully autonomous equipment. Josh Cosford gets cheeky comparing the auto…
