Charbel Nasr, President of Famic Technologies, said “We are proud to deliver the Automation Studio version 6.2, which brings the flexibility users require with its unique features such as the Block Diagram Module and the Enhanced Translation Manager. The addition of the Block Diagram broadens the simulation spectrum in Automation Studio to develop customized components with mathematical models, while the Translation Manager allows to communicate schematics in users preferred language. Helping our users realize improved productivity, and achieving global competitiveness in systems design, simulation and training through Automation Studio is our passion and top priority.”

The 6.2 Block Diagram Module is a graphical environment for modeling and customizing specific components, functions and systems’ environments. With a library of predefined function blocks, it provides a greater freedom to build customized mathematical models of various systems. Furthermore, this module allows control specialists to share their expertise by including control algorithms and observe performance with complete virtual machines.

The 6.2 release includes improved analytical tools to visualize and analyze simulation behaviors. New 2D/3D plotters are available:

  • y(t) plotter
  • y(x) plotter
  • z(x, y) plotter

An unlimited number of plots can be generated in Automation Studio 6.2 and components, dynamic measuring instruments or variables from the Variable Manager can be dragged-and-dropped on any type of plotter. It is also possible to view simulation data by inserting cursors or markers on the curves and comment on each plot by adding annotations.

Automation Studio 6.2 features an improved layer manager interface

The improved Layer Manager interface allows to drag and drop components on the manager to assign it a layer, as well as sort and filter the different layers. Layer management is also available for title blocks.

Automation Studio also 6.2 offers the ability to import, build, manage and share all the project translated terms in a single database / corporate dictionary. It allows companies to deliver their schematics in customers’ local language. It is available in Professional and Educational editions.

Since 1986, Famic Technologies has been making trade oriented software solutions including: Automation Studio for machine knowledge management, Automation Studio Live Manifold for hydraulic manifold design, quoting and prototyping, and Andon Studio, a process management optimization software solution. It also creates, markets, and supports CAD and simulation software solutions for hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, automation and controls.
