FPTC Hot Technologies: MC DuroTech series of air-driven hydraulic power units

Milwaukee Cylinder will be showcasing its new, durable air-driven hydraulic power unit technology built for high-cycle industrial applications at this year’s Fluid Power Technology Conference at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Attendees can learn more about these devices at the company’s’s booth throughout the event. The MC DuroTech series is well-suited for use in production applications offering a durable dual ram pump with a steel reservoir and protective steel shroud.

Milwaukee-Cylinder-MC-DuroTech air-driven hydraulic power unitsMC DuroTech pumps have a long-life and are fully serviceable. The dual ram pump action offers high-oil capacity and automatic pressure control. Additionally, it requires no air lubrication, runs cool, and has reduced noise levels. “One key feature of this product is the reciprocating, dual ram piston pump,” said Douglas Lacina, the Milwaukee Cylinder Workholding Commercial and Engineering Leader. “Every time the piston moves it creates flow, meaning less reciprocating versus single ram systems for more flow and longer life.”

“Shop air is connected to the built-in pressure regulator where the operator can adjust the air pressure, in turn setting the maximum hydraulic oil pressure. The air is ported through a built-in air shut-off valve to the air pump. With the air shut-off valve open, the pump automatically turns on and off to obtain and then maintain the customer selected hydraulic pressure,” added Lacina.

Key features include:

  • Extremely durable pump element
  • Four-station DO3 manifold with cover plates for unused stations
  • Air filter/regulator with built-in air pressure gauge
  • 1.8-gallon all metal reservoir with easy-access drain plug
  • Easy-to-read oil level sight glass

“ The MC DuroTech series is available in two  air/oil ratio sizes, and offers the flexibility of the industry standard DO3 manifold, allowing customers many options and accessories to create a system that perfectly fits their needs,” said Lacina.
