IDAS Engineering has just launched a new eBay store that includes a technical eBook — Empirical Hydraulic Valve Analysis and Application Including Discharge Coefficient, Viscosity and Valve Geometry Effects — that can be ordered for free.
The book contains nearly 120 pages to achieve four objectives. First, it explains in detail the transition from laminar to turbulent flow. Next, it explains when flow does not relate to the square root of pressure and why. It then explains the interactions of orifice geometry, fluid viscosity, and pressure with flow in the transition zone and how it is affected. Finally, it uses a practical, universally accepted pressure-flow equation to create the newly defined, but more practical discharge correction factor based on quantities that are familiar to fluid power system designers.
IDAS Engineering publishes other books on electrohydraulics technology, such as:
- Design of Electrohydraulic Systems for Industrial Motion Control
- Basic Electronics for Hydraulic Motion Control
- Electrohydraulic Control of Pressure and Cylinder Force
- Designers’ Handbook for Electrohydraulic Servo and Proportional Systems
