Hannover Messe is, at its heart, an international show. There are 6,500 exhibitors here from across the globe … let that sink in for a minute. Here’s a rundown of what some different countries are highlighting here in Germany this week:
Poland
We have to start with Poland, as this European neighbor of Germany is the official partner country of this year’s Hannover Messe. The Polish national stand occupies 1,200 m2 of the exhibition space, and 10 Polish companies are located there with their innovative products and solutions. In addition, the country’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education, eight regions, five Special Economic Zones and the Office of Technical Inspection are there at the stand. In total, about 200 Polish enterprises, including start-ups, will present at Hannover.
The motto of the Hannover Messe this year is “Integrated Industry – Creating Value.” The motto of Poland’s at the fair is SMART MEANS POLAND. The logo above is a K-dron—an ideal figure, which is a square inscribed in another square. Its area is both symmetrical and asymmetrical, concave and convex. The use of the Polish national colours in the K-dron represents the creative and innovative potential of the Polish economy.
Finland
There are some Finnish IoT superstars to see at the Finland pavilion (Hall 16, Stand D10). The country has more to offer than just Nokia and cellphones. Thirteen Finnish companies specializing in the IoT come together under the theme beyond industry 4.0, providing not only technical efficiency, but also delivering value creation and facilitating innovation as well as new services and business models.
For starters, Tosibox launched their new product “Virtual Central Lock—Harness IoT to your service.” Wirepas presented something completely new with a title “IoT is not a scary buzzword—it’s a technology to enhance your processes.” Next, Augumenta opened up the afternoon session with a launch of new Augmented Reality product suite focusing on industry use cases. Delfoi has a new generation Delfoi Planner 4.0 for production planning and scheduling. Lastly, Bittium has a real-time awareness solution for improving the safety of mobile workforce.
“The product launches will highlight how our companies go beyond the traditional meaning of the IoT,” said Reijo Smolander, Program Director at Finpro. “For them, efficiency is just a starting point, opening up a completely new world of services and business models. Through connectivity, they combine data acquisition and analytics with the latest interactive visualization technologies, services and applications, providing a comprehensive offering for the whole digital value chain.”
Taiwan
Companies such as Delta Electronics, HIWIN Technologies, HIWIN Microsystems, and Tatung have been will showcasing their latest innovations. Alejandro Dova from Delta Electronics, the largest manufacturer worldwide of switching power supplies and DC brushless fans, as well as the 2017 winner of the Taiwan Excellence Silver Award, spoke about the development of the IoT within their industrial sector and the variety of potential applications of Delta Electronics products. HIWIN Technologies, represented by Assistant Vice President Maurice Chang, features its intelligent ball screws, for which the company was granted the Taiwan Excellence Silver Award in 2017. HIWIN Technologies is one of the world market leaders in this field, as well as in the fields of positioning systems and linear guideways. Chi-Tai Liu, General Project Manager of HIWIN Mikrosystems, presented the DiÅMOND Series, which won the Taiwan Excellence Gold Award in 2017. With the DiÅMOND Series, HIWIN Microsystems rings in a new generation of positioning systems with nanometer precision. It is expected that the new technology will be employed primarily in the semiconductor and FPD industries. And Tatung, which celebrates its 100th anniversary next year, is showcasing their new vertical hollow-shaft motors.
France
For the second consecutive year, France will be represented in Hall 8 dedicated to “Digital Industry,” to show off the industrial know-how and creativity of French companies to international audiences, under the banner Créative Industry. It was in Hannover that the Créative Industry banner was first unveiled, the culmination of a closely-concerted effort with Alliance Industrie du Futur (AIF–National Network for Manufacturing Innovation) to showcase French industrial technology innovation through seven technologies: digitization of the value chain, the role of people, new materials and composites, additive manufacturing, monitoring and control, energy efficiency, automation, workflow management and robotics.
In total, more than 70 French companies of all sizes are showing their capacity to provide innovative solutions, all along the value chain.
