Understanding fluid conveyance technologies is critical to safe hydraulic and pneumatic system design. This year’s Fluid Power Technology Conference, to be held at MSOE May 14-15, will highlight the importance of multi-connect and adapter, hose and tubing technologies, with presentations by CEJN and Tompkins.
First up on Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. will be CEJN’s Ryan Kay, who will present “Solutions for Multiple Hydraulic Connections … Ready … Set … Connect! How Hydraulic Multi-Connectors can Work for You.” CEJN will share insights and ideas of how a hydraulic multi-coupling can add value for both the equipment/attachment manufacturer and its end customers.
As our hydraulic industry continues to evolve, equipment/attachment manufacturers are tasked with finding and creating additional value for their end customers. Often times this is accomplished by utilizing components that offer operator time savings, ease of operation use, and the reduction of human mistakes… especially in areas with which the end customer interacts (i.e. quick coupling connection between the machinery and attachments).
CEJN is a global company with manufacturing located in Skövde, Sweden, where they develop, manufacture and market quick-connect couplings and accessories within the fields of pneumatics, hydraulics, and fluids.
Ryan Kay is a Sales Manager for CEJN, based out of CEJN’s North America office. He offers technical expertise on all of CEJN’s product lines, while primarily focusing on OEM level projects requiring hydraulic quick connect solutions. Utilizing his mechanical and creative skill sets, his goal is to always create equitable value for both the OEM manufacturers and their end customers.
Later on Tuesday afternoon at 3:15 p.m., Tompkins’ Dave Murray and Chris Restorick will present “Torque and Tightening: The importance of Properly Installing Hydraulic Adapters, Tubes and Hoses.” They will provide a demonstration and hold an open forum for discussion of “Best Practices” for making hydraulic connections.
Dave Murray, Western US Sales Manager for Tompkins Industries, has more than 27 years of experience in the industrial supply chain market and specializes in the specification of hydraulic adapters, hose, and accessories. He attended Iowa State University and has participated in numerous OEM VE/VA projects, fluid power training and hose and coupler manufacturer sponsored learning events.
Chris Restorick is the Eastern Regional Sales Manager for Tompkins Industries, Inc. He has worked in the hydraulic fitting industry for more than 24 years. In this time, he has gained a strong knowledge of most of the hydraulic connections in use and how to identify and install these connections correctly and safely. He has taken many training classes and received many certifications relevant to this industry. He truly enjoys the opportunity to both teach and learn facts about this exciting industry and the people he meets while doing it.
Restorick has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from The Ohio State University, Fisher College of Business.
