There is a great entertainment value in watching the many movies or reading magazines about superheroes who possess amazing powers, and more than a few of us have wished we could be granted such skills — so we too could save humanity from evil.
But this is not far from reality. In the world of compressed air, and other areas, we can grant ourselves super powers with a few inexpensive accessories.
Perhaps we can’t be granted X-ray vision, but we can get ourselves an inexpensive thermal camera and analyze our air compressors and dryers. Using our new found power we can scan our surroundings and find severe electrical problems like overheated connections and overloaded motors, that could be waiting to explode at a moment’s notice. Our scanning can also detect problems with air compressor cooling and ventilation systems, or see a failed air dryer without looking inside the device. Very useful powers, indeed!
Perhaps we can’t shrink ourselves to ant size, but we can purchase reasonably priced dew point detectors so we can detect the air quality condition of our compressed air within the pipes, without actually going inside. Using these powers we can ward off harmful moisture problems that could cause our machines to stop working, or poison the air that may come in contact with our valuable products.
We may not be able to wave our hand and magnetically levitate large objects, but we certainly can obtain clamp on ammeters or power meters with which we can lasso power conductors and measure wasted energy due to poor compressor control, or unnecessary run time, where nobody could detect this invisible energy waste before. In doing so, we can save poor victims from doing themselves unneeded harm to their bottom line.
We may not be able to hear clearly in a noisy factory, but we may be granted super hearing that can block out ambient noise and greatly multiply our hearing sensitivity in detecting insidious compressed air leakage, something that is constantly stealing our hard earned profits from us through excessive compressed air costs. Using an ultrasonic leak detector gun we can defend ourselves from high compressed air costs.
Yes, super powers for you are within your reach! It’s up to you to take action and grab some for yourself.
