J.M. Grimstad Inc., an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company that provides fluid power and control systems integration, has acquired GT Hydraulic Specialists, a hydraulic service provider with operations in the Great Lakes marine and industrial markets.

This acquisition expands J.M. Grimstad’s service capabilities by combining GT Hydraulic Specialists’ field service, installation and maintenance experience with J.M. Grimstad’s engineering, integration and manufacturing work. It also follows the company’s acquisition of Galland Henning earlier this year, broadening its presence across several industries.

With GT Hydraulic Specialists joining J.M. Grimstad, customers will have access to a broader range of integrated services. The combined capabilities include engineering and controls support, warehousing, hose and manifold shops and additional inventory resources, which may help streamline service and project work. GT Hydraulic Specialists also brings ownership of the Collomatic winch line, a winch used on Great Lakes vessels. J.M. Grimstad will now be able to provide both new units and rebuild services for this equipment, expanding its offerings for regional maritime customers.

J.M. Grimstad and Galland Henning customers will have access to broader on-site installation, repair and preventive maintenance services. The combined companies now offer design, build and field support capabilities for marine, industrial and manufacturing applications.

The integration also brings together resources from J.M. Grimstad, GT Hydraulic Specialists and Galland Henning. Aligning supply chain operations, engineering teams, panel shops, hydraulic builds and service functions is intended to improve efficiency and support expansion into additional markets.

“This acquisition is a win for all of our customers,” said Brian Sternberg, president and CEO of J.M. Grimstad. “With GT Hydraulic Specialists’ service expertise, Galland Henning’s manufacturing excellence, and the dedication of our employee-owners, we are creating a truly comprehensive solution that supports every client we serve across design, build, and field service.”
