Liebherr expands portfolio with series production piston accumulators

To compliment its lines of hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic power units and gas cylinders Liebherr has created a series-production range for piston accumulators. The series stands out due to modern and economical production processes, but also because of a low-maintenance and compact design. They are available in a range of piston diameters from 100 to 360 mm, with oil volumes of up to 400 l.

liebherr piston accumulatorsThe design and production of the piston accumulators meets country-specific requirements in line with PED 2014/68/EU and ASME Code Section VIII regulations. “The design of the series always focused on market requirements upon development,” explained Jessica Schwarz, product manager at Liebherr-Components Kirchdorf GmbH. The production range offers a wide selection of different oil and gas connections. Furthermore, there is an option to integrate a position transducer system. Depending on the requirements, the products can be primed painted or coated for salt-water protection.

The solutions in the series-production range are designed for both mobile and stationary applications. They find their use in industrial applications, mobile machines, in the field of renewable energies, as well as in maritime and offshore applications. In this context, they can be applied for energy storage and emergency operation, but also for shock absorption. In the system, the piston accumulators of the new production range can be integrated in vertical and horizontal installation positions. In use, the components can withstand temperatures from –40° to 90°C.

They are rated for the 250 and 350 bar pressure range. These can be used either as a single solution, or in conjunction with other hydraulic components as a system. Within the production range, a multitude of options is available for a wide variety of applications.

With the new piston accumulator series-production range, Liebherr continues to pursue its strategic goal of appearing on the market as a system supplier in the hydraulics sector. The individual components can be coordinated with one another as early as the development stage, so that a complete system from a single source is possible. If required, hydraulic power units and piston accumulators, as well as other components such as control cabinets or hydraulic pumps by Liebherr can be used in addition to hydraulic cylinders. Furthermore, customers also benefit from the worldwide Liebherr service network.

Are hydrogen fuel cells the future for mobile machines? Prioritizing decarbonization is, without doubt, one that most countries agree with almost pure unanimity. Here, in the U.S., the Biden administration has a goal to eliminate carbons from the electric grid system by 2035. Globally, most countries are on similar timelines. But, looking ahead to 2050,…
