MadisonSensor expands flow switch series with two models

MadisonSensor has expanded its flow switch series with the FS3000 and FS4000 models. The new switches are intended to give engineers additional installation options for a range of liquid flow monitoring applications.

Flow switches are used in fluid systems to detect the presence or absence of flow and send signals that help protect equipment, maintain process continuity and support system operation. Common uses include verifying pump performance, preventing dry running and monitoring cooling and process systems.

The FS3000 has a straight-through inline body design for applications that need a consistent flow path. Its compact size is intended to simplify installation in space-constrained environments, and multiple wetted material options allow use with different industrial liquids. The FS3000 is suited for OEM equipment and general industrial applications that require flow verification with limited installation complexity.

The FS4000 uses an angled body configuration for systems with limited space or difficult piping layouts. This design can help with flow sensing in applications where standard inline devices are harder to install, reducing the need for extra fittings or system changes. The FS4000 is built for more demanding conditions and is intended to provide consistent switching performance in higher-duty or more complex systems.

“Customers are looking for greater installation versatility without sacrificing reliability,” said John Hurd, vice president of sales and marketing at MadisonSensor. “With the FS3000 and FS4000, we’re giving engineers practical options for both straightforward and complex piping designs while maintaining the performance consistency they expect from MadisonSensor.”

MadisonSensor flow switches are used in applications such as industrial automation, HVAC, water and wastewater treatment, food and beverage processing, medical equipment and OEM manufacturing. Typical uses include cooling loops, lubrication systems, filtration units and fluid transfer processes.

The FS3000 and FS4000 add to the existing FS1000 and FS8000 models, extending the Flow Switch Series to cover a broader range of installation and performance needs. Both product lines are now available through MadisonSensor and its authorized distribution partners.

A note from the editor In our October issue of Fluid Power World, my commentary takes a look at the growing role of automation and sensors in mobile machinery, where OEMs are increasingly focused on automating specific functions and improving machine performance rather than chasing fully autonomous equipment. Josh Cosford gets cheeky comparing the auto…
