Reducing dead-volume and overall component size to improve product performance can by achieved by switching to smaller diameter tubing. You may have considered switching from 1/8 or 1/16 in. OD tubing to ultra-miniature 1/32 in. OD tubing but have not switched yet because you were not certain how to connect to the smaller 1/32 in. OD tubing. The Beswick MCB-3-303 10-32 compression fitting solves this problem. It is designed to fit 1/32 in. OD metal or hard plastic tubing and will provide a leak-tight seal to the tubing as well as the mating component.
The Beswick MCB-3-303 is designed with a two-piece ferrule and a 10-32 UNF thread along with the high performance Beswick captured O-ring face seal. The front ferrule seals on the outside diameter of the tubing. The rear ferrule provides an anti-rotation feature. As the assembler tightens the compression nut, the front ferrule is pushed into the tapered angle of the fitting body and compresses the ferrule onto the outside diameter of the tubing. This interference creates the seal and also secures the tubing so it cannot slide out of the fitting. The Beswick captured O-ring face seal, which Beswick pioneered for use in miniature fluid power components, provides a leak-tight connection between the 10-32 UNF thread and the mating component. Typical tubing choices include 1/32 in. OD stainless steel and PEEK tubing.
The MCB-3-303 is manufactured in corrosion resistant 303 stainless steel. It is ideal for use in analytical instruments, bomb and toxic gas detection equipment, medical and pharmaceutical devices, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, environmental sampling instruments and other high technology type products. These applications require low dead-volume and leak-tight connections void of contaminants. The MCB-32-303 is rated to withstand working pressures of up to 3,000 psig (207 bar).
