The new face of fluid power

IMG_3217 (Paul)REVWe’re excited about the inaugural issue of Fluid Power World. Although our sister publication, Design World, has covered both hydraulic and pneumatic technology from its inception, we’ve had increasing feedback over the past year to launch a publication entirely focused on fluid power. Our team—with well over a century combined in serving the fluid power industry—is excited to bring you this issue, which features everything from application stories to features on how to specify fluid power components to technology news.

Departments in each issue will keep you up to date on everything that is happening in fluid power. We’ll be covering energy efficiency, research and development news, and updates from the important industry groups, including the NFPA, IFPS, FPDA, CCEFP, and NAHAD.

You’ll learn about different fluid power component fundamentals, maintenance tips, safety issues, and the latest product offerings from hydraulic and pneumatic manufacturers.

But as proud as we all are about this publication, what will really continue to separate us is our commitment to providing you with the information you need—how and where you want it. It’s about more than a print magazine. You can find great, timely information here anytime at our main website, fluidpowerworldonline.com, or you can search for more targeted content at one of our supplemental sites, mobilehydraulictips.com, pneumatictips.com, or hoseassemblytips.com. Our editorial staff covers many of the industry-leading fluid power and design engineering events, too, so you can follow us on Twitter for up-to-the-minute news. And we’ve created Facebook pages, LinkedIn groups, and a YouTube channel, all to better serve you.

I’m interested to hear what you’d like to see in future issues of Fluid Power World, as well as on our various social media offerings. We’re here to inform you, educate you and improve the next system that you design.

Where are we in the tariffs tug-of-war? It feels like we’ve been talking about tariffs for months now, with the constant, will they or won’t they take effect? Josh Cosford penned an opinion piece a few weeks ago on this very topic, sharing his thoughts from north of our border as we waited for impending…
