A note from the editor
I’ve taken to calling our October 2025 issue of Fluid Power World the “Smart Issue” as it centers on the intersection of reliability, efficiency, and innovation in fluid power systems — with a strong focus on how smarter design, advanced materials, and intelligent controls are shaping the next generation of hydraulics and pneumatics. Across the issue, contributors emphasize the role of intelligent tools to achieving longer equipment lifespans and lower operating costs.
Our three key features all address smart technologies in industrial, mobile and pneumatic systems, and as always, we offer brief technical overviews and application notes to help engineers and system users design and maintain better machines.
Highlights from the issue
- An overview of how smart sensors, edge computing and practical tools help boost uptime and manage costs in industrial hydraulic machinery
- A roundup of key intelligent technologies highlighted at this year’s iVT Expo, including smart pumps with built-in intelligence from Casappa, Sun Hydraulics’ Cygnus app and valve program, AI and IoT from Elevāt, and new load-sensing, variable displacement pumps for work trucks from Bailey International
- How compressed air monitoring and management helps speed up production and fine-tune efficiency
- An overview of filtration systems for oil & gas applications
- See how Bosch Rexroth’s Cryopump technology is aiding in hydrogen charging station development
- Learn how IoT-enabled flow monitors from Webtec helped speed up time-to-market for harvesting machinery maker Kuhn
- And much more
