Oilgear drop-in helical rotary actuators for mobile machinery to be launched at IFPE

By Mary Gannon | February 14, 2023

Oilgear will launch its newest SM helical rotary actuators at IFPE in Booth S-80541 next month.

SM helical rotary actuators for mobile machinery are designed to replace multiple components and function as a rotating device, mounting structure and bearing, all-in-one. They offer high power density with high drive and holding torque capabilities in a small, compact space claim. For leak and drift-free operation, load-holding (counterbalance valves) provide high holding torque to resist external loads. Exclusion sealing and regular greasing assures contamination resistance. Drop-in-ready installation is easy on existing or new applications. The SM82 and SM45 feature up to 180 rotation with drive torque of 8,200 and 4,500 in-lb., respectively.

They feature adaptable grounding to many applications, including:

  • Construction
  • Agriculture
  • Material Handling
  • Mining
  • Marine
  • Energy
  • Truck/Trailer

These new components are produced on a new production line in Fremont, Nebraska. The new line is pivotal for future growth for Oilgear and the Fremont team, said Alan Circo, General Manager, Fremont. “Its already making an impact. Honestly, it did from the first day the leadership team  selected Fremont to manufacture the new rotary product lines,” Circo said. “Impactful to the people working here, those supporting our efforts, the  future of the company, the contribution to the community at large.”

This production line stretches Fremont into more diversified manufacturing, embracing new manufacturing technologies, providing, and securing employment for future generations.  “It’s very exciting to see our company energized through the development of new core product
offerings… just like the rich legacy Oilgear was founded on over 100 years ago,” Circo concluded.

Where are we in the tariffs tug-of-war? It feels like we’ve been talking about tariffs for months now, with the constant, will they or won’t they take effect? Josh Cosford penned an opinion piece a few weeks ago on this very topic, sharing his thoughts from north of our border as we waited for impending…
