Power management company Eaton has announced that a wide variety of the company’s pumps and motors have been certified to meet the European Union (EU) ATEX directive, which regulates equipment that can be used in explosive atmospheres, such as oil and gas drilling. The EU requires companies to adhere to the directive for all equipment and protective systems intended for use in explosive atmospheres to help keep workers safe in hazardous zones.
Based on extensive third party testing, the ATEX certification indicates that the product meets standardized health and safety requirements, and is not likely to cause an explosion during routine operation. Eaton’s PVM pumps, X20 pumps, Vane pumps, ‘X’ series directional control valves, and Char-Lynn Gerotor and Geroler motors are among the range of products now available with the ATEX certification.
