Trafag highlighted its DPx 8380/8381 display pressure switch for hydraulic applications. The company said the DPS and DPC versions differ only by sensor material, with DPS using steel and DPC using ceramic.

The DPx 8380/8381 combines a switch, transmitter and digital display in one unit. Trafag said the device can replace multiple components in hydraulic power units and equipment, which can simplify integration and reduce system complexity.
The DPx 8380/8381 can be configured using an NFC-enabled Android smartphone app or directly on the device using buttons, allowing setup on-site or in locations that are difficult to access. Each unit includes a rotatable display and an adjustable electrical connection to support visibility and wiring across different mounting positions.
The switches also offer a selectable analog output of 4–20 mA, 0–10 V, 1–6 V or 0–5 V for compatibility with PLCs, process controllers and other automation systems used in hydraulic control applications.
The integrated datalogger stores up to 3,518 data points with an adjustable sampling rate, supporting traceability and process diagnostics in hydraulic presses, test benches and field machinery by capturing and storing process trends. The devices provide an adjustable measuring range from 0–2.5 bar to 0–600 bar (0–30 to 7,500 psi), which can help streamline spare parts management and reduce inventory variation. Operators can select from multiple pressure units (bar, psi, MPa, kPa, mWC, inchWC, or a user-defined scale), helping reduce unit-related errors and support alignment with international standards and user preferences.
With two independent PNP switching outputs, the DPx 8380/8381 supports process control, alarming and dual circuit control for maintaining pressure limits, sequencing operations or implementing fail-safe logic in critical hydraulic circuits. The IP67-rated housing supports operation in harsh hydraulic conditions and helps protect against fluid ingress, oil mist and particulate contamination. With an accuracy rating of 0.5% FS (at 25°C), these switches provide consistent measurements for applications such as load holding, circuit balancing and pressure limitation. A media temperature range of -25°C to +85°C supports use across a range of hydraulic environments and fluid types.
To support compatibility and service life, the DPx 8380 and 8381 are available with either AISI630 steel or AISI316L stainless/ceramic sensor options, allowing selection based on hydraulic process compatibility or corrosion resistance requirements. The construction is tested to withstand shocks up to 50 g and vibrations up to 10 g, supporting performance in demanding hydraulic plant conditions and helping reduce maintenance. Long-term stability is rated at 0.1% FS/year, which can reduce recalibration frequency and support ongoing operation. Integrated menu navigation built to VDMA 24574-1 standards supports usability and integration into hydraulic plants.
