Trafag introduces NAT 8252 pressure transmitter for hydraulics

By Puja Mitra | September 18, 2025

Share

Trafag highlights the NAT 8252 Industrial Pressure Transmitter, designed for hydraulic systems. The transmitter features a compact design, fully welded stainless steel construction, and a range of customization options to support different hydraulic applications.

The NAT 8252 uses Trafag’s thin-film-on-steel sensing technology to provide consistent pressure measurement for hydraulic operations. Its long-term stability helps reduce the frequency of recalibration, lowering maintenance needs and costs. A measuring range, from 0 to 700 bar (0 to 10,000 psi), allows it to serve applications from low-pressure pilot lines to high-pressure main circuits.

The NAT 8252 uses a fully welded steel sensor system without internal seals to reduce leakage risk and improve durability in hydraulic circuits exposed to aggressive fluids and high pressures. It is available with triple or optional five-fold overpressure protection to help maintain sensor function and system performance during hydraulic pressure spikes and surges.

For space-constrained hydraulic installations, the NAT 8252 has a compact footprint that fits into hydraulic manifolds and control panels. It offers multiple electrical and pressure connection options for adapting to existing system layouts and industry standards. The transmitter also supports a range of output signals for hydraulic controllers and monitoring systems, with an optional one- or two-channel PNP switching output for integrated control and monitoring.

The NAT 8252 pressure transmitter is rated for hydraulic environments and offers IP65, IP67, or IP68 ingress protection. It operates in temperatures from –40°C to +125°C and is designed to withstand mechanical and environmental conditions typical of hydraulic machinery and mobile hydraulics. The transmitter provides a 1 ms response time for real-time measurements and includes EMC and reverse polarity protection to support safe installation. It delivers ±0.5% FS accuracy at 25°C for reliable pressure measurement in hydraulic systems.

The NAT 8252 pressure transmitter provides a compact and durable option for hydraulic pressure sensing. It supports a wide range of customization options, making it suitable for various hydraulic applications.
