Power management company Eaton today announced new Eatonite anti-corrosion laser cladding, which enhances the service life and reliability of cylinders. The coating, certified to meet Joint Industry Protection (JIP) guidelines by DNV GL, protects cylinders in the demanding salt water applications and harsh operating environments, reducing costs of unplanned maintenance and equipment downtime.
Suitable for offshore deep water oil and gas exploration and production, marine, civil engineering, wave power and other heavy duty applications, Eatonite anti-corrosion laser cladding can be applied to new cylinders or refurbished applications. The coating can be repaired in the field, allowing users shorter lead time for application. Optimized for corrosion, wear, scratch and impact resistance, the Eatonite solution expands the length of time between services.
The Eatonite coating solution is proven to last more than 45,000 hours in harsh marine environments, including atmospheric and splash zones, and can be applied to cylinders of any length. The product also withstands up to a 180-degree bend and impacts of up to 24 ft-lb of force without cracking.
