HAWE Hydraulik has expanded its global presence with its own subsidiary in Mississauga, Ontario. As of July 1st, the 100% subsidiary HAWE Hydraulik Canada Inc. is focused on compact power units assembled as system solutions. This move is in line with the HAWE Hydraulik SE’s strategy to focus more strongly on the North American market, thus consistently pursuing its three-continent sales strategy.
HAWE products have been offered in the Canadian market for many years through various local sales partners. Among others, HydraFab FluidPower, founded in Mississauga, Ontario in 1989, supports customers with hydraulic solutions that contain HAWE products. As early as 2018, HAWE acquired 55% of the shares in HydraFab and thus took the first steps towards its own subsidiary in Canada.
So far, HydraFab’s main business has been system solutions for industrial hydraulics and energy sectors. In the future, manufacturers of drilling rigs, aerial work platforms and crawler vehicles will also be served directly from the final assembly in Mississauga in order to offer attractive delivery times for the customer-specific control blocks. Competence in electronic control, software development and electrification is also being systematically expanded.
The product knowledge of the more than 40 employees is already very good, as many HAWE products have already been installed in the solutions in the past. Business relations will continue seamlessly under the familiar Hydrafab brand, which will thus also become part of HAWE Hydraulik Canada.
Additionally, the company has made some executive changes to its board. As of July 1, Jiang Ye will take over the Market Relationship Management board at HAWE Hydraulik as CSO (Chief Sales Officer). Since January 2021, he has been Regional Director for APAC. He will continue in this role and will now expand his area of responsibility to include worldwide regional sales. Robert Schullan, who has held the position of CSO since April 2018 and the position of CEO jointly on the Board of Management for HAWE since July 2019, will remain in charge as CEO until the end of 2023 and will then retire. He will be succeeded as CEO (Spokesman of the Board) by Wolfgang Sochor. This early succession plan ensures a seamless transfer of responsibility in this position as well.
In the second half of 2023, Jiang Ye and Robert Schullan will ensure a careful and smooth transition of customer relationships to the new responsibility. According to Jiang Ye, “I will continue Robert Schullan’s sales work in the global HAWE Group with a focus on ensuring growth through competence close to the customer. True to the HAWE motto: We want to make it easy for our customers to work with us – HAWE, a company easy to deal with.” Jiang Ye came to Germany in 1985 to study, where he also made his first contacts with HAWE. In 1999, he started as Managing Director of HAWE International Trading in Shanghai and has since worked for the company in many international functions and projects.
As of 01 July 2023, Sebastian Brand has filled the position of Member of the Board of Management for Finance, Accounting, Controlling, Compliance, Tax, Legal and IT (CFO) at HAWE Hydraulik.
Brand’s professional career led him via a renowned auditing firm to the Kuka Group (robotics & engineering) and most recently to Stadtwerke Augsburg. He brings with him a high level of expertise, extensive experience in the various specialist disciplines of the CFO area from both the international mechanical engineering and critical infrastructure sectors.
The Management Board of HAWE Hydraulik thus again consists of 5 people, who share the individual areas of expertise but of course also manage the global business of the hydraulics specialist headquartered in Aschheim/Munich as an interdisciplinary team. With 2750 employees, the company generated total sales of 497 million euros in 2023. HAWE Hydraulik is represented in 20 countries with its own subsidiaries.
