Milwaukee Cylinder, a portfolio company of Madison Lake Capital (Madison, Wisconsin), has acquired Pneumatic Cylinders & Couplers (PCC), a Midwest-based (Machesney Park) manufacturer of industrial aluminum and stainless-steel pneumatic NFPA tie-rod cylinders.

milwaukee-cylinder-external-phoThe acquisition expands Milwaukee Cylinder’s pneumatic cylinder offering and strengthens its ability to serve customers with a broader range of fluid power solutions. PCC’s manufacturing capabilities, product portfolio, and industry expertise complement Milwaukee Cylinder’s established hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder business. By joining forces, Milwaukee Cylinder strengthens its position in the NFPA tie rod cylinder market.  Milwaukee Cylinder has existing lines of aluminum and stainless-steel pneumatic cylinders, and PCC expands the offering and gives the company extra capacity for continued growth.  In addition, engineering and purchasing teams are strengthened with the ability to work together to offer  customers more application specific solutions and consolidate purchasing power.

These cylinders are used in applications where there is a need for durable, easily repairable, and economical pneumatic cylinders, including food & beverage, conveyors, packaging, valve actuation, and assembly lines.

The addition of PCC to Milwaukee Cylinder adds around 50% more manufacturing capacity to Milwaukee Cylinders existing capabilities.  In addition, the company can maximize efficiencies by utilizing each facilities specific machinery to help streamline the logistics of machining parts, helping Milwaukee Cylinder and PCC continue to offer quick lead-times.

PCC will continue its core products and offerings, maintaining customer relationships and its commitment to serving distributors and private-label partners with the same confidentiality, service, and responsiveness they expect today. Under the Milwaukee Cylinder umbrella, the company intends to grow the current partnerships leveraging Milwaukee Cylinder’s established brand, sales organization, and distribution network.

“This acquisition is a natural fit for Milwaukee Cylinder,” said Douglas Lacina, President of Milwaukee Cylinder “PCC has excellent products, strong manufacturing capabilities, and a respected reputation in the marketplace. By combining those strengths with Milwaukee Cylinder’s brand, engineering resources, and distribution network, we see significant opportunities for growth.”
