Smart compressor/vacuum pump from Thomas gives users design options

Gardner Denver Thomas has released its latest new product development—the 2320Z series compressor/vacuum pump.

Gardner-Denver-Thomas-compressor-vacuum-pump-2320ZC36This new platform is ideal for the O2 concentrator market, but because of its higher maximum rated pressure and vacuum capability, is also an excellent choice for other medical or laboratory applications. It incorporates advanced design and patent-pending technologies as well as Thomas Power BLDC motor technology. These motors are designed to meet exact specifications and requirements that deliver optimum performance and are manufactured to the highest standards of quality. The end result is a smart BLDC compressor design and cost-effective solution that provides the OEM maximum design options and system value over traditional brush type dc or ac motor packages.

This twin WOB-L piston oil-less compressor/vacuum pump is designed for the convenience of 100-115 V 50/60 Hz ac input but with extra output performance benefits. This is accomplished by an external motor controller, integrated in the OEM’s design system, which rectifies the ac input voltage to the necessary dc motor voltage. The 2320ZC36 is RoHS/REACH compliant and is rated for a maximum continuous pressure operation up to 60 psi [4.1 bar] or continuous vacuum operation up to 90% local barometer. It provides open flow up to 3.95 cfm [111.9 lpm] and a variable working speed range of 1,000 – 2,500 rpm. This compact and lightweight design measures only 6.84 x 4.18 x 6.03 in. [173.7 x 106.2 mm x 153.2 mm] and weighs 7.5 lb [3.4 kg].

Units come standard with high-strength nylon front covers for safety and noise damping of moving parts, quick connectors assembled to power and Hall sensor leads for easy customer electrical interface, wetted parts treated for corrosion resistance, traditional foot taps for ease of mounting and upright orientation, multiple port locations for versatility and ease of pneumatic plumbing, and components that are easily field serviced for low cost of ownership.

Where are we in the tariffs tug-of-war? It feels like we’ve been talking about tariffs for months now, with the constant, will they or won’t they take effect? Josh Cosford penned an opinion piece a few weeks ago on this very topic, sharing his thoughts from north of our border as we waited for impending…
